Andy Katz lives a life that many of us fantasize about. He’s an award-winning travel photographer who gets to roam the world. He frequently visits dream-vacation places like Tuscany.

As if that weren’t enough, he also works on projects involving work that most of us would give up a lot to do. Take his recent projects, for example: he travels to wineries, working on photo projects that later become books.

He presented a slideshow at Photo Week Live last September. Stunning photo after stunning photo came up during the presentations. On top of everything, Katz also comes across as just an extremely nice guy—friendly and down-to-earth. If the travel photography doesn’t get you (but how could it not?), it’s still worth following anyone who’s that successful at work that everyone wants, but few ever get.

This is one profile in a series about photographers to follow in 2014. These are people who are doing groundbreaking photographic work and who teach the rest of us how to do it too. They fit the PhotographyTricks motto: spreading passion for life through photography.
