Among the deluge of new camera offerings at CES 2014, Sony has introduced their smallest APS-C mirrorless to date, the a5000. With a body that weighs less than eight ounces but a sensor that’s a big as those in entry-level DSLRs, this model looks to be a serious small shooter. Sony is claiming improvements that bring this mirrorless more in line with a DSLR, and the battery is at least heading in the right direction with a 400 shot life. Together with the a7, the a5000 shows the manufacturer is focused on smaller cameras with big power, and it’s not a bad thing.
